Glacigen Materials, Inc. was founded in 2016 by Dr. David Driscoll and Dr. John Bognar. Glacigen is located in Bozeman, Montana, and is close to Montana State University which facilitates collaborative relationships with local university faculty as well as providing access to the university's advanced material characterization facilities.
Dr. David Driscoll is the President of Glacigen Materials, Inc. Dr. Driscoll completed his Ph.D. in Engineering (Montana State University, 2016) with an emphasis in Materials Science. Dr. Driscoll's thesis focused primarily on high temperature functional materials, especially as related to solid oxide fuel cells. In addition, he has worked on a variety of materials based topics including anisotropic stainless steel foams and novel high temperature ceramic-metal composites. Dr. Driscoll's background and contacts within academia are key in propelling Glacigen's efforts to transition promising academic results to commercial implementation.
Dr. John Bognar is the Chief Operating Officer of Glacigen Materials, Inc. Dr. Bognar received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Colorado in 1998. At Glacigen, Dr. Bognar directs the company's business operations and contributes to process chemistry development. Dr. Bognar has worked with clients including top-tier aerospace companies, governments, national laboratories, and academia around the world, and brings this experience to Glacigen's commercial relationships.
Glacigen's staff includes several other engineering professionals with experience in areas including industrial equipment design and process engineering.
